Colin Campbell Hunt

Colin is a Professor of Management at Otago University. He has also been Visiting Professor of Management at the University of St Andrews. He teaches strategic management and is currently focussing his research on competitive strategy and competitive advantage.
Colin has devoted a long research career to studying New Zealand business development. His work has looked at the New Zealand business cycle; determinants of industry-level productivity; strategic responses of firms to the reforms of the mid-1980's; and generic competitive strategies. In the 1990's, he co-authored two significant assessments of the extent of adaptation of New Zealand enterprise, Islands of Excellence? and A Season of Excellence, both published by the NZIER.
He currently leads a large multi-disciplinary study, Competitive Advantage New Zealand - CANZ, which is funded by the Public Good Science Fund. The project investigates the evolution of competitive capability in a group of outstanding New Zealand firms. His book based on this work, World Famous in New Zealand, was published in June 2001.
