Dr Graeme Fogelberg

Graeme Fogelberg

Graeme is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Otago. He was appointed to this position in 1994. He is a past Chairman of the New Zealand Vice-Chancellors' Committee and is currently President of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Graeme has strong academic background in Business Administration and Accountancy, and is a fellow of the New Zealand Society of Accountants and the New Zealand Institute of Directors.

He was the first person in New Zealand to complete a Masters Degree in Accountancy and was the first New Zealander to be awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship for postgraduate study in Business Administration.

Previously he has held the positions of Dean of Commerce and Administration and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Victoria University of Wellington, where he was appointed a Professor at the age of 29.

During his career, Graeme has taught in variety of countries in executive development work; these include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
