Prashanta Mukherjee

Prashanta Mukherjee is a nationally respected e-business professional. He has over seventeen years of diverse information technology and e-business experience. In partnership with NZIM, he pioneered the measurement of e-Commerce activity in New Zealand in 1999. His areas of expertise are e-business, Broadband Communication and Information Technology.

He trained in adult Information Technology education with NIIT Ltd in 1982 and then worked with NIIT Ltd, CMC Ltd, Oracle Corporation, Ernst and Young and IBM as a trainer, practitioner, manager and corporate executive. Prashanta is a ministerial nominee on the national Electronic Commerce Action Team (www.ecat.govt.nz). He has served large and small organisations in public and private sectors.

Prashanta established his own practice as a consultant in e-business and strategic information technology in 2001. In this capacity he is currently helping a city develop a broadband strategy for SME business growth, a NZ software exporter move into foreign markets internationally and a major export focused manufacturer harness ICT to support its innovative knowledge-based global growth drive.

Prashanta holds a Graduate Degree in Geology and Post Graduate training and qualifications in Information Technology, Marketing and Business Administration. He is an acknowledged public speaker.
