In 1987 Suzie first took "art off the wall to adorn the body" as a fundraiser for her gallery in rural Nelson. From here the concept has grown and developed into the annual Montana World of Wearable Art Awards. This event attracts audiences and designers from around New Zealand and the world. Wearable Arts is a recipient of many Awards including the New Zealand Supreme Tourism Award in 1999.

Suzie realized her dream of providing a permanent showcase for wearable art in October 2001, with the opening of the World of Wearable Arts & Collectable Car Complex. Suzie is a sculptor.
